Uttarakhand Wins Top Aviation Honour at Wings India 2026

On 29th January 2026, Uttarakhand has been awarded “Best State for Promotion of Aviation Ecosystem” at Wings India 2026, recognising its sustained efforts to strengthen aviation infrastructure and connectivity.
- The award was presented at Begumpet Airport by Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu and Civil Aviation Secretary Sameer Kumar Sinha.
- The recognition highlights Uttarakhand’s transformation from a difficult-to-access Himalayan terrain into a state supported by a growing network of airports and heliports.
- Improved air connectivity has boosted tourism, strengthened disaster management, and enhanced healthcare access in the state.
- Successful implementation of the UDAN scheme, with central government support, is positioning Uttarakhand as an emerging aviation hub.
