Gujarat Launches Mukhyamantri Gramotthan Yojana

On 30th January 2026, Gujarat CM launched the state-wide Mukhyamantri Gramotthan Yojana from Bhadran.

  • The scheme marks a strategic shift towards providing urban-equivalent facilities in rural areas, aiming to bridge the rural–urban development gap.
  • In the first phase, 114 villages that function as Taluka headquarters will be upgraded with modern infrastructure.
  • Key facilities include high-quality road networks, underground drainage systems, solar-powered street lights, and digital e-Gram services.
  • The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for 2,666 Gram Panchayat Ghar-cum-Talati Awas buildings.
  • The project involves an investment of ₹663 crore, strengthening grassroots governance infrastructure
