MoU to Boost Digital Security in Highway Management

On 2nd February 2026, Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL), under the National Highways Authority of India, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU).

  • According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the MoU aims to strengthen cyber security and data protection in national highway operations.
  • The collaboration will focus on cyber forensics, digital evidence integrity, research, training and consultancy.
  • It will cover critical highway technologies such as Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) tolling and Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS).
  • The partnership also seeks to enhance secure data storage, cyber resilience and protection of digital infrastructure across highway networks.
  • The MoU will remain valid for 3 years, supporting long-term capacity building and technology-driven security solutions in the highways sector.
