Chief Minister Skill Development Scheme

On 12th February 2026, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta approved the ‘Chief Minister Skill Development Scheme’ to support artisans linked to khadi, handloom, cottage industries, and the unorganised sector.
- To be implemented through Delhi Khadi and Village Industries Board (DKVIB).
- 3,728 beneficiaries to be trained in 2025-26 with ₹8.95 crore allocation; ₹57.50 crore proposed for 2026–27 expansion.
- Initial focus on ~18,000 tailors registered on the e-Shram portal; later extended to other traditional occupations.
- 12-day (96-hour) training including Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP).
- Stipend: ₹4,800 per trainee plus meal allowance; toolkits provided after completion.
- Digital onboarding via e-catalogues and listing on ONDC for wider market access.
- Includes Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) to certify existing skills of artisans.
