UIDAI Bug Bounty Programme for Aadhaar Security

On 11th March 2026, UIDAI launched its first structured Bug Bounty Programme for Aadhaar security.

  • The initiative aims to strengthen cybersecurity of Aadhaar’s digital platforms.
  • Cybersecurity experts are invited to identify vulnerabilities in UIDAI systems.
  • A panel of 20 ethical hackers and security researchers has been selected.
  • They will examine platforms such as the UIDAI website and myAadhaar portal.
  • The Secure QR Code application will also be tested for security vulnerabilities.
  • Identified vulnerabilities will be categorised as Critical, High, Medium or Low risk.
  • Researchers will receive rewards based on the severity of discovered issues.
  • The initiative promotes responsible reporting of cybersecurity weaknesses.
  • The programme aims to identify security gaps before malicious exploitation.
