On 1st April 2026, India dispatched 1000 metric tonnes of rice to Burkina Faso as humanitarian assistance to support food security for vulnerable communities and internally displaced persons.

• The initiative reflects India’s commitment to humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) efforts globally.
• India and Burkina Faso share cordial diplomatic relations, with resident missions established in 1996 and India reopening its embassy in Ouagadougou in 2019.
