Maharashtra Signs ₹1.75 Lakh Cr Investment MoUs

On 16th April 2026, the Maharashtra government signed MoUs worth ₹1.75 lakh crore with JW Global Group and Shyam Steel to boost clean energy and advanced technology sectors.

  • The agreements were signed in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
  • JW Global and partners will invest ₹1.65 lakh crore in projects including AI, data centres, solar energy, green hydrogen, and nuclear technology.
  • A major project includes a ₹1.13 lakh crore AI campus and data centre aimed at supporting India’s AI ecosystem.
  • A 2 GW floating solar plant with battery storage will be developed at Ujani Dam in Solapur.
  • A green hydrogen facility will produce 6,900 metric tonnes annually, supporting clean energy transition.
  • The projects are expected to generate thousands of construction and long-term jobs.
  • Shyam Steel will invest ₹10,000 crore to set up a steel plant in Chandrapur with a capacity of 2 million tonnes annually.
  • Maharashtra is also emerging as a leader in small modular nuclear reactor investments.
  • The initiative is aimed at boosting industrial growth, sustainable development, and positioning the state as a global investment hub.
