GAIL Signs Deal for 600 MW Solar Project

On 16th April 2026, GAIL (India) Limited signed agreements with TUSCO Limited to set up a 600 MW solar power project in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh.

  • The project will include a 550 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Solar power generated will primarily meet the captive energy needs of GAIL’s petrochemical plant in Pata, Auraiya.
  • It will also support additional demand from electrification of gas-based systems and compressed biogas (CBG) plants.
  • The initiative reflects GAIL’s strategy to expand its renewable energy portfolio and adopt low-carbon solutions.
