MoD Signs Deal for Mobile Electronic Warfare Systems

On 5th May 2026, the Ministry of Defence signed a ₹1,476 crore contract with Bharat Electronics Limited for the procurement of five Ground-Based Mobile Electronic Systems for the Indian Army.

  • The procurement is being carried out under the ‘Buy (Indian-Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured)’ category.
  • The systems will have a minimum indigenous content of 72 per cent, supporting domestic defence manufacturing and technological self-reliance.
  • The induction of these systems is expected to strengthen the Indian Army’s electronic warfare capabilities and operational mobility across diverse terrains.
  • The contract is also likely to boost the indigenous defence ecosystem by creating opportunities for local industries and MSMEs involved in the supply chain.
