IP Catalyst Initiative and Digital Platform

On 12th May 2026, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology launched the IP Catalyst initiative and its digital platform during the national conference on “From Patent to Product: Accelerating IP Commercialization in Electronics & IT” held in New Delhi.

The initiative aims to support the complete innovation lifecycle from research and intellectual property creation to technology transfer, commercialisation and market deployment.
Key features include financial support for patent filing, international patent assistance for startups and MSMEs, IP advisory services, technology readiness assessment and technology transfer facilitation.
According to MeitY, India recorded 1,10,375 patent applications in FY 2024-25, with the Electronics and IT sector contributing nearly 44% of filings.
