India and UAE Sign Strategic Agreements

On 15th May 2026, India and the United Arab Emirates signed multiple agreements in Abu Dhabi during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to strengthen cooperation in energy, defence, maritime infrastructure, and emerging technologies.

UAE Investments: The UAE announced investments worth USD 5 billion across banking, infrastructure, and financial sectors in India.
Energy Cooperation: Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Limited and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company signed an agreement on petroleum and gas reserves.
LPG Supply Deal: Indian Oil Corporation and ADNOC finalised a long-term LPG supply arrangement.
Defence Partnership: Both nations signed a Framework for Strategic Defence Partnership focusing on maritime security, cyber defence, advanced technologies, and training.
AI and Technology: India’s C-DAC and UAE-based G42 partnered to establish an 8 Exaflop Super Compute Cluster supporting India’s AI Mission.
Virtual Trade Corridor: Both countries operationalised the MAITRI digital platform to improve customs coordination and reduce logistics costs and transit time.
