BRICS Tourism Working Group Meeting

On 25th May 2026, India chaired the inaugural BRICS 2026 Tourism Working Group (TWG) meeting in virtual mode under its BRICS 2026 Chairship.

The meeting marked the beginning of tourism cooperation initiatives among BRICS member nations for the year 2026.
The meeting served as an introductory and preparatory platform to advance tourism cooperation under the theme “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability”.
India highlighted key focus areas including the use of Artificial Intelligence in tourism, sustainability and responsible tourism practices.
The agenda also included tourism skilling, capacity building, tourism exchanges and seamless travel facilitation among BRICS countries.
