- The draft rules provide for establishing a unified regulatory framework to replace various disparate guidelines and the digital implementation of the formal permission process.
- These include simplifying approval procedures, eliminating the mandatory signing of the Grant of Permission Agreement (GOPA), and implementing a transparent decision-making system.
- These rules will provide a single and simplified rulebook for the broadcasting industry and harmonize the existing regulatory framework.
- At the same time, it will boost the Ease of Doing Business and create a favourable environment for reforms in the broadcasting sector.
