On June 12, 2026, India’s renowned shooting coach and former Asian Games gold medalist, Jaspal Rana, passed away at the age of 49.

• He had recently undergone medical treatment after falling ill during the Indian contingent’s return from the ISSF World Cup held in Munich, Germany.
• Jaspal Rana was one of India’s most successful shooters and won numerous medals at the Asian Games and the Commonwealth Games.
• Among his notable achievements, he won three gold medals at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha.
• He coached Indian shooter Manu Bhaker and played a crucial role in her historic achievement of winning two bronze medals at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
