28th IORA Committee of Senior Officials (CSO) Meeting

On 15th-16th June 2026, India hosted the 28th Meeting of the Committee of Senior Officials (CSO) of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) in New Delhi under its current chairship of IORA.

  • Member countries advanced discussions on the next IORA Action Plan (2028-2032) aimed at strengthening regional cooperation.
  • The deliberations focused on promoting a peaceful, stable and prosperous Indian Ocean Region (IOR).
  • The meeting reaffirmed the importance of cooperation in areas such as maritime security, connectivity, trade, sustainable development and regional prosperity.
  • The Indian Ocean Rim Association is an intergovernmental organisation established in 1997 to promote regional cooperation among countries bordering the Indian Ocean.
