India and Japan Adopt JCM Under Paris Agreement

On 16th June 2026, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change announced that India and Japan have formally adopted the Rules of Implementation for the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) under Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement.
