India, Thailand Deepen Defence Ties

On 16th June 2026, India and Thailand agreed to expand bilateral defence cooperation in defence manufacturing, research, innovation and capability development during the 10th Thailand-India Defence Dialogue held in Bangkok.

Focus on Indo-Pacific: Both countries exchanged views on the evolving security environment in the Indo-Pacific region and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting peace, stability and prosperity.
Defence Industry Collaboration: Both countries explored opportunities to deepen partnerships between their respective defence industries and promote indigenous defence capabilities.
Shared Security Goals: Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to addressing common regional security challenges through dialogue, cooperation and practical engagements.
Strategic Partnership: India and Thailand elevated their bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership in 2025, providing greater momentum to defence and security cooperation.
