Centre Restores Commercial LPG Supply

  • 27 Jun 2026

On 25th June 2026, the Centre restored Non-Domestic Packed LPG supplies to pre-crisis levels and withdrew all sectoral restrictions imposed during the West Asia crisis, providing relief to industrial and commercial consumers.

Key Points:

  • Supply Restored: Supplies of Non-Domestic Packed LPG have been restored to pre-crisis levels, while bulk LPG supplies have been partially resumed.
  • Bulk LPG Allocation: Bulk LPG consumers are now eligible to receive up to 50% of their pre-crisis consumption levels.
  • Reason for Relaxation: The decision follows improved domestic LPG production and increased availability of imported LPG cargoes.
  • C3-C4 Stream Allocation: The government has reduced the diversion of C3-C4 streams for LPG production, allowing greater allocation to petrochemical and other downstream industries while maintaining domestic LPG production above 40 TMT per day.
  • Monitoring Mechanism: The Centre for High Technology (CHT) has been directed to allocate the additional C3-C4 streams and submit regular reports to the Ministry.
