Moldovan Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu Resigns

On 3rd July 2026, Moldova's Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu announced his resignation, leading to the collapse of the country's cabinet.

President Maia Sandu accepted his resignation and stated that a new Prime Minister would be appointed after consultations with parliamentary factions.
Alexandru Munteanu will continue as the interim Prime Minister until a new government is formed.
Munteanu was appointed Prime Minister in November 2025 after the pro-European Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) won the parliamentary elections.
