Startup Policy 2026 and Data Centre Policy 2026

On 6th July 2026, the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved the Uttar Pradesh Startup Policy 2026 and the Uttar Pradesh Data Centre Policy 2026 to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, investment, and employment.
- The policies aim to establish Uttar Pradesh as a leading hub for startups and data centres while supporting the state's goal of becoming a 1-trillion-dollar economy.
- Under the Startup Policy 2026, the sustenance allowance for startups has been increased from ₹17,500 per month for one year to ₹20,000 per month for two years.
- Prototype grants have been increased from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh, while seed funding has been enhanced from ₹7.5 lakh to ₹15 lakh, with provision for up to ₹50 lakh in special cases.
- The policy provides reimbursement of up to ₹2 crore for patents and quality certification, matching grants up to ₹5 crore, a 4% interest subsidy on term loans up to ₹2 crore, and reimbursement of EPF and ESI contributions.
