India and Romania Sign Three Cooperation Agreements

On 23rd July 2026, India and Romania signed three agreements on Science and Technology, Education and Sports following delegation-level talks between President Droupadi Murmu and Romanian President Nicușor Dan in Bucharest.

- Trade Target: Both countries agreed to double bilateral trade within the next three years.
- Priority Sectors: India and Romania agreed to expand cooperation in manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, renewable energy, green hydrogen, agriculture, fertilisers, science and technology, digital public infrastructure and artificial intelligence.
- India-EU FTA: Both sides noted that the proposed India-European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA) would create new opportunities for trade, investment, industries and skilled professionals.
