2nd BRICS Anti-Corruption Working Group Meeting

On 4th–5th August 2026, India successfully hosted the Second Meeting of the BRICS Anti-Corruption Working Group (ACWG) and the Second Meeting of the BRICS Expert Network on Asset Recovery in Hyderabad.

BRICS members agreed to enhance cooperation in combating corruption, tracing fugitive offenders, asset recovery, extradition efforts and addressing emerging financial risks.
Significant progress was made on India's proposal to establish a BRICS Network of Law-Enforcement Practitioners to strengthen cooperation in tracing fugitive offenders and supporting extradition in corruption cases.
Member countries also welcomed the creation of a BRICS Repository on Informal Cooperation, which will compile national practices and informal cooperation mechanisms for tracing fugitives.
