  • 25 Aug 2026

On 24th August 2026, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) introduced the Information Technology Resilience Index (ITRI) to strengthen IT resilience of Market Infrastructure Institutions (MIIs).

  • ITRI will assess IT systems of stock exchanges, depositories and other Market Infrastructure Institutions.
  • The index will evaluate nine parameters, including availability, security, integrity, governance and reliability.
  • Availability and security carry the highest weightage of 20% each in the index.
  • Business continuity, governance, integrity, reliability and monitoring carry 10% weightage each.
  • Scalability, incident handling and other relevant factors account for the remaining 10%.
  • MIIs will develop an Early Warning System (EWS) to detect deterioration in IT resilience.
  • MIIs must calculate ITRI half-yearly within 60 days of each half-year’s end.
