SEBI’s Information Technology Resilience Index (ITRI)

On 24th August 2026, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) introduced the Information Technology Resilience Index (ITRI) to strengthen IT resilience of Market Infrastructure Institutions (MIIs).
- ITRI will assess IT systems of stock exchanges, depositories and other Market Infrastructure Institutions.
- The index will evaluate nine parameters, including availability, security, integrity, governance and reliability.
- Availability and security carry the highest weightage of 20% each in the index.
- Business continuity, governance, integrity, reliability and monitoring carry 10% weightage each.
- Scalability, incident handling and other relevant factors account for the remaining 10%.
- MIIs will develop an Early Warning System (EWS) to detect deterioration in IT resilience.
- MIIs must calculate ITRI half-yearly within 60 days of each half-year’s end.
