DAC Clears Defence Procurement Proposals

On 7th September 2026, the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) approved capital acquisition proposals worth approximately ₹1.10 lakh crore.
Key Points
- Indigenous Procurement: Around 98% of approved procurements will be sourced from Indian industry.
- Army Equipment: CBRN reconnaissance vehicles, high mobility vehicles, mine layers, ALHs, trawl tanks and Sarvatra Bridge Systems approved.
- CBRN Vehicles: Designed to detect, identify, monitor and mark areas contaminated by hazardous agents.
- Mine Layers: Provide faster mine-laying capabilities for operations across difficult terrain.
- ALHs: To support complex missions across varied terrains and operational conditions.
- Crossing Systems: Trawl Tanks and Sarvatra Bridge Systems enable formations to cross difficult terrain during operations.
- Navy Systems: Arudhra Radars and indigenously developed Marine Gas Turbines approved.
- Arudhra Radar: Will replace existing Air Route Surveillance Radars at naval air stations.
