Rs. 661.50 Crore Contract Signed for Navy's BrahMos System

On October 6, 2026, the Ministry of Defence signed a contract worth Rs. 661.50 crore for the procurement of BrahMos Fire Control Systems and Launchers for Indian Navy warships.
Key Highlights
- Indigenous Procurement Category: The contract was signed in New Delhi with BrahMos Aerospace Private Limited (BAPL) under the Buy (Indian-IDDM) category.
- Defence Indigenisation: Featuring approximately 68% indigenous content, the project will encourage active participation from various Indian industries, including MSMEs.
- Strategic Capability: The system is capable of precisely targeting threats from both land and sea with extended range at supersonic speeds.
