UP Cabinet Approves Rs.1,725 Crore Skill Training Scheme

The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Skill Training and Employment Zone (SVPSTPZ) Development Scheme. The Rs.1,725 crore project aims to transform UP into a global hub for skilled manpower across all 75 districts.
Key Highlights
- Budget & Duration: Rs.1,725 crore allocated over a 3-year implementation period.
- 3-Tier Structure: State-wide coverage divided into 9 Hub-and-Spoke Zones.
- Phase 1 Infrastructure: 5 key centers (10–25 acres each) with 4-lane highway connectivity to be developed in Lucknow, Kanpur (PPP model), Gorakhpur (GIDA), Gautam Buddha Nagar (NOIDA/YEIDA), and Jhansi (BIDA).
- Training Scope: Basic skill training for non-technical backgrounds (humanities, commerce) alongside technical upgrades for ITI, polytechnic, and engineering graduates. Includes foreign language training for global job placements.
- Tech Integration: Features AI-driven data analytics, digital dashboards, hostel facilities, and placement cells.
