Digital Portal of Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies Launched

On 6^th August 2023, Union Home Minister inaugurated the digital platform of Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) in Pune, Maharashtra, emphasizing the role of cooperatives in national development.

Key Points:

• Digital Transformation: The CRCS office, responsible for Multi State Cooperatives, undergoes complete digitization.
• All tasks, including opening new branches, expansion, auditing, and elections, will now be conducted online.
• The digital portal encompasses registration, bylaw amendments, auditing, election monitoring, human resource development, vigilance, and training.
• PM's Vision - "Sahkar Se Samriddhi": Prime Minister’s initiatives have provided housing, electricity, clean water, gas cylinders, sanitation facilities, health insurance, and free food grains to the needy.
• Cooperatives for Prosperity: "Sahakar se Samridhi" signifies uplifting the poor, enabling them to contribute to economic growth through cooperatives.
• Benefits for Multi-State Cooperatives: The newly launched portal aids 1555 multi-state cooperative societies, with Maharashtra hosting 42% of them.
• Modernization and Accountability: The minster stressed the importance of modernity, transparency, and accountability for the cooperative movement's advancement. A transparent system connects millions and bolsters acceptance.
• Legislative Amendments: The recently amended Multistate Cooperative Societies Act introduces electoral reforms, financial discipline, ease of business, and more.
• The Act enhances cooperative governance, transparency, and accountability, fostering young talent's participation.
