On 7th March, Union Cabinet approved India AI Mission with an outlay of Rs 10,372 crore for 5 years.

- Funding Allocation: Cabinet approved Rs 10,372 crore for India AI Mission with funds to subsidize private AI compute centres and support AI startups.
 - Computing Capacity: Government aims to set up 10,000 GPUs through viability gap funding, where priority on Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) for advanced AI applications will be placed.
 - Sector Focus: Mission targets agriculture, healthcare, and education sectors.
 - AI Curation Units (ACUs): 50-line ministries to develop ACUs and framework for curating non-personal data to be established.
 - AI Marketplace: Proposal includes AI marketplace for AI services and pre-trained models which are aimed at AI application developers.
 - Public-Private Partnership: Public AI Compute infrastructure to be developed through PPP model with 50% viability gap funding.
 - Support for Startups: Government to finance deeptech startups at an allocation of Rs 2,000 crore for startup support.
 - Innovation Research Centre: IndiaAI Innovation Research Centre to develop large foundational models with a focus on indigenous models.
 - Datasets Platform: IndiaAI Datasets Platform to host high-quality AI ready datasets.
