'Shakti - Festival of Music and Dance' at Seven Shaktipeeths

On 9th April, Sangeet Natak Akademi, under the series of Kala Pravah, presents the 'Shakti - Festival of Music and Dance' to revive Temple Traditions.

  • The festival will take place from April 9th to 17th, 2024, at seven different Shaktipeeths across India, symbolizing the power of nine goddesses.
  • The inauguration starts at the Kamakhya Temple, Guwahati, and continues at six other locations, including Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Tripura, Gujarat, Jharkhand, and Madhya Pradesh.
  • Sangeet Natak Akademi, an autonomous body of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, aims to preserve, research, promote, and rejuvenate various performing art forms of the country.
  • The festival highlights music, dance, drama, folk, and tribal art forms, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of India.
