On 18th April 2024, Vice-Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, currently Vice-Chief of Navy, appointed as Chief of Naval Staff effective April 30, succeeding Admiral R. Hari Kumar.
- Currently serving as Vice-Chief of the Navy, he will assume office on April 30.
- Tripathi commissioned into the Indian Navy in 1985, specializing in Communication and Electronic Warfare.
- Previous roles include Flag Officer, Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command.
- He is an alumnus of Sainik School, Rewa, National Defence Academy, and has undergone courses at various defense institutions.
- Tripathi's appointment aims to uphold the Navy's leadership and strategic capabilities.
