India Clinches SAFF U19 Title in Penalty Thriller

On 18th May 2025, India edged past Bangladesh 4-3 on penalties to retain their SAFF U19 Championship crown after a 1-1 draw in regulation time at the Golden Jubilee Stadium on Sunday.

India took an early lead in the 2nd minute through captain Singamayum Shami, who scored a stunning free-kick from over 30 yards out.
The Indian team controlled the first quarter with aggressive attacks and nearly doubled the lead through Omang Dodum, whose effort was saved.
The remainder of the match was fiercely contested, with both teams unable to find a winner despite intense play.
