India Assumes APO Chairmanship for 2025–26

On 21st may 2025, India officially took over the Chair of the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) for the 2025–26 term during the 67th Governing Body Meeting of the organization.
- The announcement was made during the 67th Session of the APO Governing Body Meeting, with India represented by APO Director for India and Secretary, DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
- India pledged to support the APO’s strategic agenda, particularly the implementation of the APO Vision 2030, which aims to reshape productivity in the region through inclusivity and sustainability.
- A key priority under India’s Chairmanship will be advancing Green Productivity 2.0, an evolved framework integrating environmental sustainability with economic performance.
- India highlighted the importance of accelerating digital transformation, driving innovation, and fostering sustainable entrepreneurship among member countries.
- The Asian Productivity Organization, headquartered in Tokyo, comprises 21 member economies across the Asia-Pacific, including India, Japan, Iran, Vietnam, and others.
