On 6th June 2025, government launched the UMEED Central Portal in New Delhi to digitize and improve transparency in Waqf property management across India.
- The UMEED Portal—Unified Waqf Management, Empowerment, Efficiency, and Development—aims to modernize and streamline the governance of Waqf properties through a centralized digital platform.
- The portal enables real-time uploading, verification, and geo-tagging of Waqf properties, ensuring accurate and up-to-date digital records.
- Designed for transparency and accountability, the platform facilitates public access to verified property details and enhances trust in Waqf administration.
- An integrated grievance redressal system will allow users to file and track complaints online, ensuring quicker resolution and responsiveness.
- The system uses GIS mapping and e-Governance tools to strengthen monitoring and curb misuse or unauthorized leasing of Waqf properties.
