​Manthan Baithak on Cooperation

On 1stJuly, 2025, Union Home and Cooperation Minister will chair the Manthan Baithak of State and UT Cooperation Ministers at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, to strengthen India’s cooperative sector.

  • The high-level conference is being convened by the Ministry of Cooperation and will bring together Ministers, Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and Secretaries from all States and Union Territories.
  • The meeting aims to evaluate the implementation of key national cooperative initiatives and align efforts under Prime Minister Modi’s vision of ‘Sahkar Se Samriddhi’ (Prosperity through Cooperation).
  • A major agenda item is the creation of two lakh new Multi-purpose Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), which are intended to bolster last-mile delivery of services in rural India.
  • The conference will also assess the progress of the World’s Largest Grain Storage Scheme in the cooperative sector, which seeks to boost agricultural infrastructure and national food security.
