PM Inaugurates Development Projects in West Bengal

On 18th July 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone, inaugurated, and dedicated multiple development projects worth over Rs. 5,400 crore in Durgapur, West Bengal, aimed at strengthening infrastructure, promoting industrial growth, and creating employment opportunities.

- Infrastructure Achievements: India’s progress includes 4 crore pucca houses, crores of toilets, 12 crore tap water connections, expanded roads, railways, airports, and internet access in villages.
- West Bengal Rail & Road Upgrades: State leads in Vande Bharat trains; inauguration of two road overbridges under Setu Bharatam Programme worth over Rs. 380 crore improves safety and travel ease.
- Airport Integration: Durgapur airport integrated with UDAN scheme, facilitating over 5 lakh passengers in a year, boosting regional connectivity and employment.
