Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar Resigns

On 21st July 2025, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar tendered his resignation from office with immediate effect, citing health concerns and medical advice, as outlined under Article 67(a) of the Indian Constitution.

The Vice President addressed his resignation letter to President Droupadi Murmu, stating that the decision was made to prioritize his health and follow medical recommendations.
In the letter, the 72-year-old Vice President thanked the President for her unwavering support and praised the harmonious working relationship they shared throughout his tenure.
He also expressed deep gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Council of Ministers, stating that their cooperation and support had been invaluable and had contributed greatly to his experience in office.
Reflecting on his tenure, he emphasized the privilege of witnessing India’s rapid economic growth and transformation, which he described as part of a historic and transformative era for the nation.
