IAF to Hold Major Air Drill along Pakistan Border

  • 22 Jul 2025

On July 23–25, 2025, the Indian Air Force will conduct a large-scale military exercise in Rajasthan, near the India-Pakistan border, as per a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued to restrict civilian air traffic in the area.

  • The air drill will span key border areas from Barmer to Jodhpur, forming part of the IAF’s routine operational readiness exercises involving multiple commands.
  • The exercise will include frontline fighter aircraft such as Rafale, Mirage 2000, and Sukhoi-30, alongside air-defence systems and critical support infrastructure.
  • Night-time preparedness will be a major focus of the drill, with 24x7 operational simulations aimed at enhancing India’s aerial combat readiness in border areas.
  • This drill comes amid heightened alertness along the India-Pakistan border, especially following recent hostilities and airspace violations.
