Meri Panchayat App Wins WSIS Champion Award 2025

In July 2025, the “Meri Panchayat” mobile application, developed by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj and the National Informatics Centre (NIC), was awarded the WSIS Prizes 2025 Champion Award during the WSIS+20 High-Level Event in Geneva, Switzerland.

• The award was conferred under the Action Line Category for Cultural Diversity and Identity, Linguistic Diversity, and Local Content, highlighting the app’s contribution to inclusive digital governance at the grassroots level.
• The app empowers more than 25 lakh elected representatives and approximately 950 million rural citizens across India’s 2.65 lakh Gram Panchayats by providing real-time access to budgets, payments, receipts, and development plans.
