Lt Gen Pushpendra Singh Appointed Vice Army Chief

On 31st July 2025, Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh assumed charge as the Vice Chief of the Army Staff, following his previous role as Director General Operational Logistics & Strategic Movement at Army Headquarters.

  • Commissioned into the elite 4th Battalion of the Parachute Regiment (Special Forces) in December 1987, Lt Gen Singh brings over 38 years of operational and strategic military experience.
  • His operational experience spans key missions including Operation PAWAN in Sri Lanka, Operation MEGHDOOT in Siachen, Operation ORCHID in the northeast, and multiple deployments under Operation RAKSHAK in Jammu and Kashmir.
  • He has commanded diverse formations, including a Special Forces unit in the Kashmir Valley and along the LoC, an Infantry Brigade, a Mountain Division during Operation SNOW LEOPARD at the LAC, and a Corps responsible for critical areas like Jammu, Samba, and Pathankot
