On 2nd August 2025, centre launched the 'Matri Van' initiative, a 750-acre urban forest project along the Gurugram-Faridabad Road, under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign to boost ecological preservation and community-led green efforts.

  • The launch event, held as part of Van Mahotsav 2025 and organized by the Haryana Forest Department, saw the participation of several senior officials, including Haryana Minister Rao Narbir Singh and other public representatives.
  • The forest will be developed by clearing invasive species such as Kabuli Kikar and planting native Aravalli-specific trees like Dhauk, Khairi, Kullu, Neem, Peepal, Amaltash, Semal, and others to restore the ecosystem’s natural biodiversity.
  • The project is a collaborative effort involving CSR entities, resident welfare associations, NGOs, schools, government bodies, and corporate partners to create an inclusive ecological and cultural space.
