DoP Partners with Geospatial Firm for DIGIPIN

On 29th August 2025, the Department of Posts (DoP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a private geospatial software company in New Delhi to strengthen the development and implementation of DIGIPIN across India.
- The MoU enables the Department of Posts to utilise the private company’s advanced mapping platform and geospatial products for creating and maintaining a digital addressing system.
- The agreement includes the provision of high-quality base maps that will be integrated into the Know Your DIGIPIN application to ensure enhanced user visibility and precise address generation.
- With this integration, users will be able to generate accurate DIGIPINs based on their exact geographic location, thereby reducing errors and improving service reliability.
- The collaboration will allow citizens to search for locations and navigate to them seamlessly through digital applications powered by the mapping platform.
