India, US Begin Yudh Abhyas 2025 in Alaska

On 1st September 2025, an Indian Army contingent reached Fort Wainwright in Alaska, USA, to participate in the 21st edition of the India-US Joint Military Exercise Yudh Abhyas 2025, which will continue until 14th September.
- The Indian Army contingent consists of personnel from a battalion of the Madras Regiment, who will undergo intensive joint training with American soldiers.
- The US side is represented by troops from the 5th Infantry Regiment, famously known as the “Bobcats” of the Arctic Wolves Brigade Combat Team, part of the 11th Airborne Division.
- Over two weeks, both armies will practice tactical drills covering heliborne operations, employment of surveillance resources, use of unmanned aerial systems, mountain warfare, and integrated use of artillery, aviation, and electronic warfare systems.
- The Ministry of Defence highlighted that subject-matter experts from India and the US will lead working groups on advanced domains such as counter-unmanned aerial systems, information warfare, modern communications, and logistics management.
