Ex-Heavyweight Boxer Joe Bugner Dies at 75

On 1st September 2025, the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBoC) announced the death of former European heavyweight champion Joe Bugner at the age of 75 in Brisbane, Australia.

Joe Bugner, born in Hungary and later based in Britain, was a three-time European heavyweight champion and twice held the British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles.
His career highlights included fights against legendary boxers Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier in 1973, with both winning on points against him.
Over a career spanning 32 years and 83 fights, he won 69 bouts, including 41 by knockout, before retiring in 1999.
