Agriculture & Allied Activities: PM Launches New Schemes

On 11th October 2025, Prime Minister launched two new schemes — the PM Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana and the Pulse Self-Reliance Mission — to enhance self-reliance and welfare of farmers in India. The announcement was made during a special Krishi programme in New Delhi.

- Districts: 100 districts have been selected based on yield levels, cropping frequency, and access to agricultural credit and investment. The scheme integrates 36 existing government schemes for a comprehensive approach.
- Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses (2025–31): It has been launched with an outlay of Rs. 11,440 crore to boost domestic pulse production and ensure nutritional security.
- Focus on Nutrition: The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of a protein-rich diet, particularly for vegetarians, and highlighted pulses as a key source of nutrition for a healthy body and mind.
