International Meet on Rural Buddhist Heritage Begins

On 28th November 2025, the Academy for Preservation of Rural Buddhist Heritage inaugurated an international conference in New Delhi to advance efforts toward protecting rural Buddhist heritage across India and beyond.

The three-day conference, hosted by the Indian Trust for Rural Heritage and Development, brings together national and global experts to deliberate on the preservation needs of rural Buddhist sites.
The event focuses on addressing the complex challenges faced by lesser-known Buddhist heritage locations, particularly those located in rural areas with limited conservation infrastructure.
Participants will explore ancient architectural traditions and examine how these traditional construction practices can guide modern restoration methods for Buddhist monuments.
