- PM noted that Savitribai Phule firmly believed education was the most powerful instrument of social change and worked tirelessly to transform lives through learning.
- Born in 1831 in Maharashtra, Savitribai Phule is widely regarded as India’s first woman teacher for her pioneering role in educating women and marginalised communities at a time when female education was considered taboo.
