#SkilltheNation AI Challenge

On 1st January 2026, President Droupadi Murmu launched the #SkilltheNation AI Challenge and virtually inaugurated an Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Regional Centre and Skill Centre at Rairangpur, Odisha.

• The initiatives were unveiled at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre during an event organised by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
• President Murmu said artificial intelligence is transforming economies and societies by reshaping learning, work, service delivery and problem-solving worldwide.
• The President underlined that India’s approach to technology is rooted in empowerment and inclusion, and AI must help bridge social, economic and technological divides.
