DRDO Flight-Tests MPATGM with Top-Attack Capability

On 12th January 2026, the Defence Research and Development Organisation successfully flight-tested the third-generation Fire & Forget Man Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile (MPATGM) with top-attack capability against a moving target at the KK Ranges in Ahilya Nagar, Maharashtra.

- Successful Flight Test: The MPATGM was tested against a moving target, validating its top-attack capability and fire-and-forget features.
- Indigenous Development: The missile has been developed indigenously by DRDO using state-of-the-art Indian technologies.
- Advanced Technologies: Equipped with an Imaging Infrared (IIR) homing seeker, tandem warhead, all-electric control actuation system, fire control system, propulsion system, and a high-performance sighting system.
- Operational Capability: Capable of day and night combat operations and designed to defeat modern main battle tanks.
- Flexible Launch Options: Can be launched from a tripod-mounted system as well as from a military vehicle launcher.
