On 27th January 2026, Union Minister of Culture and Tourism inaugurated the 25th edition of Bharat Rang Mahotsav (BRM) at the National School of Drama (NSD), Mandi House, New Delhi, marking the silver jubilee of the world’s largest international theatre festival.

  • The Minister said Bharat Rang Mahotsav acts as a cultural bridge, connecting India’s diverse theatre traditions with global audiences and reshaping international perceptions of Indian heritage and creativity.
  • A major highlight was the launch of NSD’s new digital initiatives — “Rang Akash”, an app-based radio station, and “Naatyam”, an OTT platform, unveiled by the Culture Minister to expand NSD’s global outreach.
  • BRM 2026, the largest edition so far, spans over 40 locations across India and one country on every continent, featuring 277 Indian and 12 international productions in 288 languages and dialects.
