UIDAI Launches New Advanced Aadhaar App

On 28th January 2026, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) launched a new and advanced Aadhaar mobile application, marking a major upgrade to India’s digital identity ecosystem.

The app was unveiled in the presence of Jitin Prasada, Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry.
UIDAI said the new Aadhaar app is more secure, faster and privacy-focused than the existing mAadhaar app, enabling limited, need-based data sharing and giving users greater control over personal information.
The app supports direct app-to-app verification, enabling instant identity confirmation by service providers without additional procedures.
Its “show and share” feature eliminates the need for printed Aadhaar copies, allowing digital verification at places such as airports, hotels and rental services.
